@ggarron Good question! I think it came from whatever bits I cobbled together, so hadn't thought about it until now, but it's running the command to build whatever is in the Dockerfile in the current directory (.) which is the snippet earlier in the post.

-q I presume is quiet, but still must return the name of the built image into the rest of the command (wrapping in $() turns the output of whatever the command is into an argument in the outer command).

@ggarron but because the build is cached it's instantaneous.
